Fillings, Inlays, Crowns and Veneers
Transform unsightly old black fillings, chipped, cracked and broken teeth with our ranges of options below. Your dentist will decide which is the best option for your teeth after a comprehensive examination.
Invisible/White /Cosmetic Fillings-the old filling and decay is removed from the tooth and replaced directly with a white cosmetic filling material. These fillings work best in very small holes and can be done in one visit.
Some benefit of Invisible Fillings
- they can help strengthen the remaining tooth tissue, amalgam can weaken remaining tooth
- look natural and colour matched with existing tooth
- less tooth tissue needs to be removed as they bond chemically to teeth unlike amalgam
- they do not contain mercury
- restore the natural tooth shape
If a lot of tooth structure has been lost then your dentist may consider the options below, which are carried out over two appointments.
Dental Inlays and Onlays-these are fillings that are custom made in the laboratory either to fit in or onto the tooth surface. This option is used when there is insufficient tooth structure to support a direct cosmetic filling (see above).

Dental Crowns/Caps– a crown is used to when a large portion of tooth is missing as a result of trauma, decay or malformation. A Crown may be the only option to preserve the remaining natural tooth from the excessive forces that we use when eating. They may also be considered for aesthetic reasons if teeth straightening is not an option.

Dental Veneers-a dental veneer is a thin layer of porcelain that is cemented over the front of the tooth. They are like false finger nails for teeth. They can be used to replace chipped, discoloured, worn and mal-positioned teeth (if teeth straightening is not an option).
